Earth Day in North Texas

As the world celebrates Earth Day, Earth Day Texas has created the world’s largest annual forum for sharing the latest initiatives, discoveries, research, innovations, policies, and corporate practices that are reshaping our world. This three-day free event is held Friday, April 22 through Sunday, April 24 to is the largest event in the world of its kind with approximately 1,000,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space in Dallas’ historic Fair Park. Earth Day Texas brings together environmental organizations, businesses, academic institutions, government agencies, speakers, interactive programming, and subject matter experts along with live music and sustainable beer and food pavilions. Is there a difference between the three days? All of the exhibitions will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday; however, there will be certain special programming tracks, entertainment, and food and beer options available on certain days only. Please check the event schedule section of the website (http://earthdaytx.org/) to see everything that will be happening at Earth Day Texas 2016. What are the hours of the event? The regular hours of the exhibition are 10 AM to 6 PM all three days. Is it really free? Yes! Admission to the event is completely free. Can I ride my bike to the event? Yes – in fact, they encourage it! They will have large bike parking stations in the footprint of the event. How do I take DART to Fair Park? Earth Day Texas encourages visitors to take DART to the entrance of Fair Park. The City of Dallas charges $10 for parking in lots at Fair Park. The Green Line of DART rail will take you right to the entrance of Fair Park, next to Gate 4 and the Music Hall off Parry and Exposition Avenue. Is the event family-friendly and can I bring my kids? Absolutely! Earth Day Texas is the perfect place to spend the weekend with family and friends! Can I bring my dog? The City of Dallas places certain restrictions on dogs entering buildings but there are plenty of outdoor activities and areas for your best friend to join you on your journey through Earth Day Texas. Please remember to keep your dog on a leash and bring paper bags to pick up after you pet! Will there be something to eat at the event? Yes, there will be healthy, sustainable dining options, samples from some of the best restaurants and chefs in Dallas and snacks from local Texas food producers. What should I bring?
